Obituary for Derek Michael Hedges

Derek Michael  Hedges
MEDFIELD: Derek Michael Hedges, age 43, of Medfield where he has been a resident since 2012, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Hartford, CT, he was the loving son of Kathleen (Pepin) Hedges-MacEachern. In addition to his mother and step-father George MacEachern of Newfane, VT., he is survived by his beloved wife Debra H. (Carrasquillo) Hedges and children Samuel B. Hedges (age 12) and Sarah K. Hedges (age 9). He is also survived by his twin sister, Elizabeth H. Falvey and her husband Todd of Norfolk, a sister-in-law Ann Marie Renucci and her husband John, nephews and nieces, Colin and Noah Falvey, Sophie, Johanna and Alexandra Renucci and his father Douglas Hedges.

He was a graduate of Xavier High School, Middletown, CT with the class of 1989, Boston College in 1993 and University of Michigan, School of Business in 2003.

A former resident of Medway, MA, Plymouth, MI and Portland, CT. He was the Sr. Vice President of Product Strategy with Athenahealth of Watertown and currently Founder and CEO of Ripple Analytics of Sherborn.

He enjoyed hiking, writing, running, travel, visiting with friends, but especially loved spending time with his family and treasured every moment with his children. He will be remembered as a creative entrepreneur, inspiring writer, cherished friend and devoted husband and father.

Visiting hours will be held at the Connors Center, 20 Glen Street, Dover on Wednesday, April 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and close friends are welcome to join the family for a Celebration of Life at the Connors Center, Thursday, April 30th from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Trustees of Reservations at www.thetrustees.org.
