Rina Mariani passed away peacefully at home on May 19, 2023 and has rejoined her husband, Ralph Mariani and one of her sons, Len Mariani. Rina was one of three children, born in San Giovanni, Frosinone, Italy on November 8, 1929. She moved to Milan during World War II and then to Massachusetts after the war, following her marriage to Ralph and their honeymoon in Capri. She and Ralph were happily married until his passing in 2017. Rina’s brother, Renato and sister, Angela predeceased her. Rina worked in Hyde Park, where she first moved after immigrating to the US. She later worked at the Dover Schools after she moved to Medfield. Rina is survived by two sons, Ron and Ray, and their wives, Virginia and Sarah, as well as Len’s husband, Greg Hutcheson. She spent much of her time after retirement checking in on her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her extended family included her many nieces and nephews in the US and in Italy, who stayed in close contact with her. After Ralph’s passing, she maintained a firm independence by choosing to live on her own until the time of her passing. A funeral service will be held on May 26, 2023 at 11:00 at the church of St. Edward the Confessor in Medfield. Following that service, Rina will be buried next to Ralph at the Vine Lake Cemetery on Main Street in Medfield. Family and friends are invited to visit at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home in Medfield on the morning of the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 and to attend the funeral mass.
