Obituary for Ann T Clancy (Harney)

Ann T. Clancy (Harney) was born in Boston, MA on September 13, 1935 to Eileen and James Harney. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter E. Clancy. She was the loving mother of Helen M. Merlin and her husband Jim of Millis; James Clancy and his wife Amy of Beaverton, OR; Louise Caussade and her husband Dennis of Upton; and Joseph Clancy and his wife Jill of Westford. She is survived by two sisters, Mary Henneberry of Walpole and Peggy Collins of Norwood, and predeceased by two brothers, James V. and Joseph Harney. She was also the beloved Nana to Bethany, Sam, Claire, Ava, Lia, Molly, Jack & Logan. Ann grew up in West Roxbury and graduated from Roslindale High School. Shortly after high school, she married the love of her life, Walter. Ann worked at several different jobs through the years including, most notably, at the former Lord's Department Store in Medfield and at Marshall's in Medfield. As a parishioner at St. Edward Parish in Medfield for over 50 years, she enjoyed doing volunteer work at the church over the years. More than anything though, Ann loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren especially were her greatest joy, and she never hesitated to babysit for them when needed. She made every holiday special was truly the perfect "Santa", as she loved spending endless hours selecting just the right gifts for her family. Ann greeted everyone she met with a smile and had a wonderful way of making people laugh. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.
