Obituary for Anne Geiger (Joyce)

ANNE JOYCE GEIGER, Ashland, MA – Anne J. Geiger, 80, died on August 1st at St. Patrick's Manor after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was born on May 30, 1942 in Englewood, NJ, the daughter of George T. and Katherine Elizabeth (Grier) Joyce. Anne graduated high school from George School in Newtown, PA, Class of 1960. Following graduation, she attended Davis and Elkins College before graduating from NYU in 1964. She married her college sweetheart, Clifford Geiger in 1963, and they settled in Kennebunk, Maine. They celebrated 58 years of marriage last September. After living in Kennebunk for 27 years, they moved to Stuart, FL where they lived until moving to Ashland in December of 2019 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Anne’s professional career started with teaching fourth grade in NYC. She held various office positions until ending her career as a Mortgage Specialist in Florida. Anne was an avid reader and loved playing bridge and tennis. She would often be found crafting - needlepoint, quilting and making dollhouse furniture were some of her favorite pastimes.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Katherine J. Anderson. Surviving are her devoted husband Cliff, her beloved son Chris Geiger and his wife Laurie, of Maynard and her loving daughter Elizabeth Govoni and her husband Scott, of Millis. In addition to her two children, Anne is survived by six grandchildren, Christopher Foster and his wife Samantha, Thomas Geiger, Matthew Geiger, Katherine Govoni, Michael Govoni and Maria Govoni, and three great grandchildren.

A service of remembrance will be held at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, MA. Those who wish to remember Anne in a special way, instead of flowers please consider making a gift in her memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
