Obituary

Anne Elizabeth (Hinkley) Morgan, 85, of Medfield, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, January 17, 2020. She was born and raised in Medfield, daughter of the late Daniel C. and Beatrice O'Day Hinkley.

Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Patrick Morgan, of Walpole. She is survived by their nine children, Leslie Berg and husband Peter of Lancaster, MA; Michele Doucette and husband Dale of Wilmington, VT; James Morgan and wife Kerry of Medway; Susan Morgan of Medfield; Kevin Morgan of Charlestown; Karen Morgan of Garfield, NJ; Kristen Sadowski and husband Kevin of Merrimack, NH; Timothy Morgan and wife Jen Olsen of Millis and Alyson Morgan of Dorchester.
Anne was the proud grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of 3, with her 4th arriving soon. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Hinkley and wife Nancy of Medfield. She was preceded in death by sisters Beatrice Rafuse, Kathryn (June) Kelly and brother Daniel Hinkley.

After raising her nine children, Anne served the Town of Medfield by being a beloved school bus driver for over 30 years. In between her bus runs, she would be found organizing the Toy Dept at Lord's Department store. She was also considered the "First Lady" of the Medfield High School Hockey team, while her husband Jim was the coach from 1976-1986. She could be found in the bleachers for every game, matching the Coach, whistle for whistle, as she cheered on the boys, along with driving "the bus" back and forth to the games. Anne was a fun loving person and enjoyed celebrating her life with her family. She was known by neighborhood children for having the best decorated house at Halloween, her favorite holiday, including tricks as well as treats.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday Jan 25th 10am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring St, Medfield. Burial to follow at Vine Lake Cemetery. Visiting hrs will be Friday 4-8 at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso FH, 15 Miller St, Medfield.

The Marchant Family is very saddened to hear this news. I have the most fond memories playing all sorts of games and having all kinds of fun at the Morgan household. Always welcoming, always making me feel at home. Trips to the beach and Cape Cod remind me of how patient and kind Mrs. M was. A silent warrior, a symbol of grace, and a hero to so many in our small town. You will be missed Mrs. M. Rest easy.
All our love to the entire family.

To the Morgan family, it goes without saying that "Auntie Anne" was a great person with a kind heart; personally, she was always there with a shoulder to lean on and a hug to make everything better. We all miss her and take comfort in knowing Heaven has already welcomed her with aloha and open arms. Our condolences to all.
