Obituary for Annette Cassidy (Deguire)
Cassidy, Annette Rose (Deguire) passed away unexpectedly on December 29th 2019, at the age of 48. She was the beloved wife of Terrence Cassidy and mother to sons Declan and Adrian, all of Millis. The loving daughter of Roland and Paulette Deguire of Blackstone, she is survived by her brother Daniel Deguire and his wife Judy, her sister Kathryn Tata, brother Bryan Deguire and his wife Tanya, mother-in-law Mary Cassidy, and sister-in-law Beth Cassidy. Annette was also the cool aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Annette was born and raised in Blackstone, MA where she loved to ride her horse. As a teenager Annette was a member of her local 4-H club and civil air patrol. Her love of animals never went away, and she leaves behind her beloved Border Collie April. She graduated from Blackstone-Millville Regional High School in 1989, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Worcester State College.
Annette and Terry were married in August of 2007. In January of 2009, she and Terry welcomed their beautiful son Declan. They were blessed with their second son, Adrian, in 2015. Annette was a tireless advocate for Declan’s education needs; he now attends Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown.
Annette and Declan were constantly engaged in athletic programs and events through Adaptive Sports New England and the Jimmy Fund. This included the NE Kid’s Triathlon in Cambridge, the Adaptive Swimming Program in Quincy, Camp Casco, and the PMC Pedal Partners.
Annette’s many passions included splashing around in the backyard pool, camping with her family, and riding off the back of their boat on a tube. Flower growing and gardening were her personal passions. She had a talent for growing beautiful flowers, and was an active member of the local flower community. Annette brought color into everyone’s lives with her Dahlias and roses, and she could be found most days playing outside with her boys and tending to the garden beds. Annette loved working on her parents’ farm, where the family came together through the year to enjoy each other and grow Christmas trees.
Annette lived life with a zest and energy that touched everyone around her. She enjoyed sharing her faith as a CCD teacher at St. Mary’s in Holliston. Whether working in her flower gardens or playing with Declan and Adrian, Annette always had a laugh and smile to share. She is impossible to forget. Her passing will forever leave a void in our hearts.
