Obituary for Benjamin Obiajulu Aduba

Mr. Benjamin Aduba passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 10th, 2021. He was 75 years old. Mr. Aduba was born in Achi, Nigeria where he was exposed to education at a very young age. While his teaching career began at only twelve years old, Mr. Aduba went on to take a posting at St. Peter’s Anglican Primary School in Enugu, Nigeria.

Not only was Mr. Aduba a gifted student, but he was also an accomplished athlete. It was at St. Peter’s where his athletic prowess really began to show itself. There, Benjamin was the games master and led the East Central State football team to the championship game in Lagos, Nigeria.

Mr. Aduba moved to The Unites States in 1974 to attend the University of Kentucky. After achieving his MBA, he was hired by Price Waterhouse Coopers. In his adoptive country, he became a tireless community leader, founding the original Enugu Progressive Union and was incredibly active in the Rotary club where he led several trips to Nigeria for blood drives.

Beyond his considerable academic, athletic and community achievements, Mr. Aduba was a family man above all else; he believed that without love and family you would be lost. He would always push others to be better and never hesitated to lend a gentle hand whenever and wherever needed. He had a sincere and infectious laugh that could bring a smile to the saddest person.

He touched many lives and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family and the countless others who loved him.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated for Mr. Aduba on Saturday, July 24, 2021, 10:00 AM, at Church of the Advent, 28 Pleasant St., Medfield, MA 02052, followed immediately by interment at Vine Lake Cemetery in Medfield.
