Obituary for Beverly Ann Haigh (Dewar)

Beverly Haigh, 88, of Medfield, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2021 under the care of hospice and her family. Bev had an enormous heart and always had an optimistic outlook on life, even during some of the most challenging times. Bev married her love, Leonard Haigh, on May 10th, 1958. “Bevie and Lenny” became an institution in the town of Medfield with family roots reaching back to the mid 1800’s on both sides of the family. They were married for 62 years until Len predeceased her on December 22, 2020.
Bev worked in the Medfield School system as in integral part of the office team while working at the Dale Street, Junior High, and High School for 20 years. She was loved by the student body and respected by her peers. She was active as a member of the United Church of Christ for decades, and, also remained active with the American Legion Auxiliary for numerous years. Whether it was enjoying her children, grandchildren, friends, or activities, Bev lived life to the fullest. For years “Len and Bev” would pack their car and drive to Florida where they would spend a month during the coldest part of the winter. When they were home in Medfield, their sacred ritual of starting the car at 3:58, having dinner ready on the stove, and driving down Rocky Lane at 4:01 on their way to the VFW is one which everyone could set their watch to.
In addition to her husband, Bev was predeceased by her brother Everett Dewar and son in law, Harry Bodozian. She is survived by her three loving children Kim Bodozian, Paul (Candy) Haigh, and Mark Haigh. Also surviving her are her seven beautiful grandchildren Harry and Angie Bodozian, Chelsea and Cory Haigh, and Nick, Tim, and Luke Haigh.
