Carol Elizabeth (Silva) Smith, of Millis, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2019 in the comfort of her home of 54 years after a brief illness. She was 77 years old. Carol was born and raised in Gloucester, MA. She was the daughter of the late Florencio and Irma Silva and sister of the late Robert Silva. She moved to Millis in 1964 after marrying Eugene Smith who passed away in 2013, after 48 years of marriage. She raised her 4 children there and though she held several different part time jobs throughout the years; her number 1 job was being a mom and “Ma” to her 8 grandchildren.“Ma” loved spending time with her kids and grandchildren. She loved the beach and looked forward to the annual family vacation at Old Orchard Beach. She also enjoyed shopping with and for her grandchildren. A great lover of shoes and clothes, she was always dressed to impress. She is survived by her 4 children; Kelley Topper and her husband Jonathan of Brookline, Kevin Smith of Millis, Karin Curtis and her husband Lewis of Franklin, and Karla Terkelsen and her husband David of Bellingham. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Julia, Chloe and Riley Topper, Daniel and Lauren Curtis, and Allison, Sarah and Bryan Terkelsen. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the St. Thomas The Apostle Church,82 Exchange St., Millis MA at 10:30 AM followed by a burial at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Auburn Rd. Millis.
