Obituary for Carole Elaine Rogers (Johnson)

Carole Elaine Rogers, of Uxbridge and Medfield, wife of Michael Rogers, passed away peacefully with Mike by her side on February 17th. Carole passed while in the excellent hospice care at Milford Regional Medical center.

Born on July 31, 1945 while her parents were living on Pearl St. in Newton. She always enjoyed hearing someone say they were from Newton so she could say she lived on Pearl St in Newton and went to the Lincoln Elliot School.

Then moved to Medfield with her parents, Marjorie and Charles who predeceased her, and her brother Donald. Their home was next to the pond in Vine Lake Cemetery and she would often talk about catching snakes and frogs in the pond and brook that ran behind the house. Also skating on the pond in the Winter.

Carole had her favorite trips that were to Florida to enjoy the sun and ocean and Lancaster, PA so she could visit her favorite shopping place, QVC. Many trips to Ogunquit, ME to enjoy the ocean and sand of Ogunquit Beach. Many stops along Rte. 1 and backroads to browse shops for country goods as she would say she was a “country girl.” When Mike would ask where she was going to put all these country things she would say “I’ll find a place.”

Carole, in addition to Mike, is survived by her daughter Marjorie Berkley, (Tom) of Bozeman, Montana and Michael of Medfield. Granddaughters Lauren Berkley of Shelburne, VT and Michaela Berkley of Fort Collins, CO. Brother Donald Johnson of Medfield. Many “favorite” brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews from her extended family.

Carole and Mike enjoyed 59 wonderful years of marriage that began after they had graduated from Medfield High School together in 1963. Carole was his cheerleader in school and in their life’s journey.

Contributions, if you wish, can be made in Carole’s memory to the charity of your choice.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
