Carrin Veronica Holborn (Caputo) died peacefully in her home on October 11, 2019 following a long struggle with glioblastoma. Carrin was 70 years old.
Carrin was born to her parents, Anthony and Veronica Caputo in Bronx, NY. She graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Sociology and spent several years working in finance and education. Carrin married Donald Holborn, whom she met in New York and started a family with in Connecticut before settling in Medfield, MA in 1995. She dedicated herself to her family and treasured spending time with her husband and two children. Carrin was a supportive and generous mother who encouraged her children to pursue their passions. Her laughter was infectious, and she loved having a house full of activity, whether it be hosting book club or entertaining family on the holidays. In recent years, nothing brought her more joy than watching her grandchildren play and learn. Carrin showed compassion for friends and family and always put others ahead of herself.
Carrin is survived by her mother, Veronica Caputo of Suffern, NY; her son, David Holborn of Hopkinton, MA; her daughter, Kristin Porrazzo of Medfield, MA; and her brother, John Caputo of Suffern, NY. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Holborn of Medfield, MA, and her father, Anthony Caputo of Suffern, NY.
A wake will be held on Wednesday, October 16th from 4-8p at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller St, Medfield. The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, October 17th at 10 a.m. at Saint Edward the Confessor Church. Burial to follow at Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield. A reception will follow at Primavera Restaurant in Millis where all are welcome to attend and celebrate Carrin’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Brain Tumor Association.
