Obituary for Charles W. "Charlie" Long Jr.
Charles (Chuck) Long passed away at home in Medfield, MA on November 20th 2021, surrounded by his loved ones including his dog, also Charlie. In his 80 years, he established a very successful career at United Electric and was proud of his private contract work with the Department of Defense. His biggest accomplishment was meeting the love of his life Barbara Nelson and marrying in 1966.
We know he’ll miss his breakfast at Newcombe’s with his friends, gambling at Mohegan Sun, and Dunkin’ Donuts decaf coffee. More importantly, we know he’ll miss weekly dinners with his family.
Charlie is survived by his son Brian Long of Iowa, his wife Penny, and 3 grandchildren Trevor, Katie, and Chloe. As well as his niece Elaine Yoke, grandnephews Josh Yoke and Thomas Campbell of Westborough, MA, and two grandest nieces Haley and Samantha Yoke of Medfield, MA.
We are all going to miss him dearly but take comfort knowing that he’s reunited with his bride, Barbara.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated for Charlie at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller St., Medfield, MA 02052, on Saturday, December 11, 2021, 12:30 PM. Visiting will precede the service from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
