Christopher Francis Clancy
88, of Dover and Naples, formerly of Natick, passed away unexpectedly after a brief hospital stay on December 9, 2018. He was the devoted husband of Nancy E. (Simpson) Clancy for more than 65 years. Son of the late Christopher C. and Rose E. (Sherry) Clancy, he was born and raised in Millis, MA. He lived a full and wonderful life and was a loving son, husband, and role-model for his children and grandchildren.
He attended Burdett College and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. In 1950 he was called to active duty and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Upon his return to civilian life he married his high school sweetheart Nancy Simpson and they settled in Natick where he embarked on a long career in real estate beginning with selling homes for the Martin Cerel Co. In 1958 Martin Cerel and the Perini Corp entered into a joint venture to develop industrial properties and he made the switch to commercial real estate working as Vice President of Paramount Development, a Perini Company. In 1963 he joined Cabot, Cabot and Forbes where he developed many industrial parks in suburban Boston and other parts of the United States including several office buildings in the City of Boston. He retired in 1990.
Throughout his life he enjoyed pursuing other real estate ventures individually and with colleagues including residential subdivisions in Pocasset, commercial acquisitions in New England and vacation homes in New Hampshire and Cape Cod. Two favorites were the barn conversion project in Pocasset and his South Natick home where he enjoyed working in his orchard, horse barn and pursuing his life-long interest in furniture making and woodworking.
He and Nancy proudly raised their family of six children enjoying many years of family togetherness skiing and boating on weekends. In later life he followed with interest the activities and accomplishments of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his children, Sherry A. (Mariano Haro) of Natick, Christopher F. Jr of Holliston, Steven E. (Lisa Campoli) of Cambridge, Gregory R. of Naples, FL, Bryan J. (Andrea DeMayo) of Holliston and Colleen C. (Christopher Landers) of Holliston. Chris also leaves 12 grandchildren; Patrick J. Clancy (Janet), Daniel X. Haro, Ryan C. Clancy, Nicholas M. Haro, Benjamin R. Clancy, Mathew J. Clancy, Gregory M. Clancy, Erin R. Clancy, James Calvin Clancy, Sarah E. Clancy, Nola L. Clancy and Christopher J. Landers and two great-grandchildren; Aiden J. and Harper L. Clancy. He is also survived by his dear sister, Ritajane Clancy, brother- in- law Wayne Simpson and sister- in- laws Cynthia Korzon and Maryjane Simpson and his former daughter-in-law, Michelle Clancy.
Calling hours will be Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 4pm to 8pm at the Roberts, Mitchell, Caruso Funeral Home on Miller Street in Medfield. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Millis. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Natick Visiting nurses association or the Natick service council
