Daniel Edward Lynn Jr. passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the age of 72.
Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Daniel and Marie (Dennis) Lynn. Daniel served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he earned his BSN and became a registered nurse. He had a distinguished career working for the Commonwealth, where he met the love of his life and best friend, Elizabeth “Betty” Schulz. They married in 1975.
Danny’s love of his country was second only to his love for his family. He was extremely patriotic and proud of serving his country. He was a lifetime member of the Milllis Amvets Post 495 and Medway VFW Post 1526. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He touched the lives of everyone that he met with his wonderful sense of humor and smile.
He was an avid New England Patriots fan and season ticket holder who loved a great tailgate with his friends and family. He was passionate about travel and always looked forward to the next adventure with his partner in crime, Betty.
Dan leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Elizabeth (Schulz) Lynn. He was the loving father of Carrie Polimeno and her husband Brian of Millis, Daniel Lynn III and his wife Alisha of Medway and Kathleen Giles and her husband James of Millis. He was the cherished grandfather of 10: Aidan, Danny, Brennan, Grady, Addie, Emily, McKenna, Maggie, Nora and Amelia.
He is survived by Mary Ellen Powers of W. Yarmouth and David Lynn of Quincy. He was predeceased by his brother Dennis Lynn and his sister Pamela Lynn.
A Funeral Service burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 20th at 10am at the Church of Christ, Congregational, 142 Exchange St, Millis following by burial with Military honors at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday December 19th from 4-7pm at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home 90 Curve St., Millis.
