Doris Ann (Sullivan) Ferguson was a caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She died peacefully at the age of 93, while living in Franklin, MA.
Doris was the daughter of the late Walter James and Alice (Dube) Sullivan born on November 14, 1927 in Bristol, CT. Doris and her late husband, Buel James Ferguson, Jr., were longtime residents of Weston, MA where they raised six children later moving to Medfield where they retired.
Doris worked as an Executive Secretary for Harnish Law followed by many years at SmithKline Clinical Laboratories. Doris enjoyed big band and swing music, spent weekends gardening, camping, bird watching and always loved a day at the beach. Doris was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church in Weston, a Girl Scout Leader, a Cub Scout Leader and a member of the Medfield Garden Club.
Doris will be remembered as a patient, kind, compassionate and cheerful member of the many communities in which she belonged. Her proudest accomplishment was her family. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Norton who lives in Bristol, CT as well as her children: Susan Champagne and husband, Wayne of Ashland, MA; Sandra Gardner and husband, David of High Springs, FL; Bruce Ferguson and wife, Michele of Highland, CA; Heidi Oppel and husband, Robert of Medfield, MA; Adele Lewis and husband, Dean of Southborough, MA and Melinda Schmalz and husband, Timothy of Moretown, VT. She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
A private service will be held followed by a burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
