Elaine Julia Pietrusiak
April 18, 1939 - July 27, 2022

Elaine Julia Pietrusiak was born on April 18, 1939 in Jersey City, New Jersey to parents William and Natalie Dylewski. She and her sister, Joan, grew up together with their parents in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey in a community that shared her family’s Polish traditions. In her youth, she enjoyed ballet. She attended the Academy of the Holy Angels high school where she met her dear, lifelong friends, Catherine and Mary Lou. After high school she attended Georgetown Visitation College and after graduating in 1959 worked in New York City as an administrative assistant for McGraw Hill Publishing and American Oil.

In 1961, she met the love of her life, William J. Pietrusiak. Elaine and Bill married on October 5, 1963 at Corpus Christi Parish Church in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. Soon after, they moved to Medfield, Massachusetts where they settled into their home and raised their 2 sons, Bill and Bob. Elaine was a loving and proud mother, taking delight in all things that brought her sons joy. She was actively involved in their school, sports, and community activities and enjoyed many wonderful family trips with her boys when they were young. They have special memories of summers spent with their beloved extended family at Lake Lookover in New Jersey, as well as trips to Florida and the Caribbean. They also enjoyed frequent trips to football and bowl games to cheer on Notre Dame where Bill and both of Elaine’s sons went to college.

Elaine was a loving grandmother to her 2 grandsons, Jack & Nick. Taking interest and pride in their activities and accomplishments, she traveled to California regularly to be with them and to celebrate holidays and special milestone events. She also enjoyed their many visits to Medfield, always going out of her way to make her grandsons feel loved and at home when they came to visit her in Massachusetts.

Elaine was a savvy business woman who was gifted with numbers and had great attention to detail. Her husband, Bill, founded Cypress Color & Chemical and Elaine worked alongside Bill in the business for over 40 years, managing the bookkeeping and administrative functions until she and Bill both retired in 2020.

Elaine and Bill shared many wonderful adventures in their 59 year of marriage. They enjoyed traveling the world, and Elaine especially enjoyed her travels to the Caribbean islands. She was an avid Patriots, Red Sox and Notre Dame sports fan and loved attending games with her family. She also cherished times spent with beloved cousins, family and friends at their annual Army vs. Navy football game reunions.

Elaine was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and friend. Her greatest love and greatest joy in life was her family and those she loved. She delighted in any event or opportunity to bring family together.

Elaine is loved by so many and will be remembered for her caring heart, fun-loving and adventurous spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and so much more. She loved steel drum music and the Bee Gees. Elaine loved to laugh, lived in the moment, and lived her life to the fullest.

Elaine is survived by her husband, William J. Pietrusiak, Sr.; sons, William J. Pietrusiak, Jr. and Robert (Shelley) Pietrusiak; grandsons, Jack and Nick Pietrusiak; and her many beloved cousins, family, and dear friends.
Funeral Mass will be Friday August 5th 10AM at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring st, Medfield. Burial to follow at Vine Lake Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso FH.
