Obituary for Ernest Edward "Eddie" Walton

E. Edward Walton, 84, of Franklin, MA passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from natural causes. Born on March 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Louise Marie (Thibodeau) and Adelbert Walton, and brother of the late Thomas Walton. Married for 63 years, he was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart Patricia (Sherman) Walton. He was a loving father to his late daughter Linda and husband Monty Mills, daughters Deborah and husband Michael Droney, Cynthia and husband John Charest, and Karen Bernetti. Our dear Papa left behind his adored grandchildren Ryan Mills and his wife Jen, Michelle Charest and her husband Max Kawaky, Justin and Daniel Charest, Shannon, Danielle and the late Cheryl Droney, Joseph, Timothy, and Alecia Bernetti, as well as two great granddaughters Jozie and Kaylie Mills.

As a child growing up in Waltham, Eddie enjoyed playing sports and working on his uncle’s farm. After attending Newton High Trade School, he became an accomplished printer and served several years in the National Guard. His passion for sports continued throughout his life as he participated in many adult leagues and was an avid Boston sports fan. He took pride in gifting produce from his garden as well as his handmade woodworking projects to family, friends and charity. Above all, he enjoyed being with his family and was often seen on the sidelines at his grandchildren’s many sporting events. Eddie’s smile, laugh and sense of humor will be missed by all.
Visiting hrs will be Wednesday January 30th 10-12 followed by a brief prayer service at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller St, Medfield. Burial to follow at Vine Lake Cemetery.
