Obituary for Eugene D Pflueger
Eugene Pflueger at the age of 62, sadly lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on January 29, 2019 with family and friends surrounding him. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Gene was the beloved son of the late Harry and Violetta Pflueger. He was the loving husband of Janet (Gallagher) Pflueger for 32 years, and devoted father of Nicole and Michael Pflueger.
A graduate of Northeastern University, Gene had an illustrious career as a software engineer. Among other places, his work took him to Belfort, France and he holds 10 patents on data storage technology.
Son-in-Law of Florence Gallagher and the late John Gallagher, Gene is survived by his brother Richard (Helen) of Lodi, NJ, sister Susan (Ken) Perry of Reeders, PA, several nieces and nephews and dear friends including his closest friend Doug LeCrone of Hopkinton, MA, all of whom cherished the time they spent with him and will honor his memory.
Gene was a master craftsman and a connoisseur of fine wine and cuisine. He could often be found wood-working, cooking and fishing. He loved to travel and appreciated live music, a good book, a baseball game and spending time with those he loved.
Gene lived his life to the fullest, each and every day, no matter what challenges he faced, treasuring every moment he had. His family is grateful for the professional and compassionate care they received at Massachusetts General Hospital during his final days.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 28th from 4-7 at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Gene to the Palliative Care Service Fund at Massachusetts General Hospital.
