Obituary for Francis J "Joe" Dugan

F. Joseph Dugan, 79, of Yarmouthport, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2019. Joe was married to his childhood sweetheart Catherine J. (Sweeney). They had a wonderful and loving marriage for 58 years. He was the devoted father of Joseph M (Cheri) of Uxbridge, Timothy (Mary) of Medfield, Cathleen of NC, and predeceased by his son, Brian. Joe was the "Papa" of 7 brilliant grandchildren, Maggie, Kevin, Owen, Lauren, Tom, David and John, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Maria and Avit. Born to Francis F and Catherine (Rumse) he was the dedicated and loving brother to Catherine (Kate) and her husband Kenneth Carlson of Florida and his two brothers Bill of Florida and Ed of West Virginia. He was also survived by many loving extended family members. Joe was a graduate of Medfield High School and earned a BS in business from Northeastern University as well as attending Sloan Business School. He was the proud creator of Graduate Registry (GR Registry) a human resource company. He also created his consulting firm, Boston Resource Collaborative, known for fixing companies in need, along with acquisitions and liquidations. He enjoyed strategizing the challenges in the business world. He was a loyal friend, kind and compassionate man, and dedicated business partner. He loved his Medfield High School Class of 1958 and enjoyed entertaining his class members at his home. He cherished his retirement life on Cape Cod. He enjoyed playing golf and the simple pleasures of sitting on his deck with his wife, overlooking the green. Among all of his accomplishments, he was most proud of his loving marriage, his beautiful wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe adored his nurses at the oncology department at Cape Cod Hospital, Kim, Jen, Deb & Erin along with Dr Wade and Dr McEnaw. A special thank you to all the nurses at Cape Cod Hospital who worked so hard to keep Joe comfortable.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 10:30 am at St Thomas the Apostle Church, 82 Exchange St, Millis, MA 02054, followed by burial at Vine Lake Cemetery, 645 Main Street, Medfield, MA 02052. Funeral arrangements were made through Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, MA 02052.
