Obituary for George Kingsbury

KINGSBURY, George W. of Medfield passed on December 6, 2020. Born in Medfield on May 1st 1928 to the late Carlton and Mildred (Attwood) Kingsbury. Predeceased by his wife Anita (MacKay) in 2002 and sisters Gwendolyn Suereth, Priscilla Morton and his brother Allan A. Kingsbury.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, Rebecca Nutting and her husband Kent of Conway, NH, Allan Kingsbury and his wife Bonnie of Gilmanton, NH, Allan George Kingsbury, Naomi Searles, Jacqueline Kingsbury and Robert Jolie of NH. Laura and William Hunt and Debra Regan of Rhode Island. Cynthia Regan Cahill and Karen Jolie of MA. Kathy Jolie of AZ, Wendy MacKay, Lisa Gilmore, Frank Kane, Eric Suereth and his wife Nadine of FL. He also leaves behind his many friends including Kelly McMahon and Lisa Tumminelli.
George served in the United States Navy during WWII. After being honorably discharged, he held various jobs working for the Atlantic Brick Co, a driver for Herman Shoe and served for the Medfield Fire Dept. He was best known as the Sergeant of the Medfield Police from which he retired.
George was active in various organizations; He was a member of the Masons. Medfield Home Committee, Medfield Horse Thief Detective Society, Acacia Club, American Legion and Police Square club.
He enjoyed his vacation camp on the river in Alfred Maine.
