Obituary for Gilda Seaver

Gilda Seaver, longtime resident of Tilden Village in Medfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 at age 95. Gilda passed peacefully, enveloped in her family’s love, and with the help and support of the wonderful folks at the Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center in Natick.

Gilda was born January 30, 1924 in Providence, RI, of Italian immigrant parents, Francesco and Pasqualina Zaccaria, the youngest of four children, Angelina, Etta and Frank. In her long life she lived through many of the major events of the times, the Great Depression, World War II. As a young woman, Gilda aided the Allied War effort, working as a welder at the Quonset Point Ship Yard. It was here she met her husband of 52 years.

Gilda settled in Dorchester where she raised her four children with tender, loving care and delicious Italian food. Her strength of character and determination sustained her family, and they are forever in her debt for all her sacrifice and hard work.

Gilad leaves behind her children, David Seaver and Pat Sjogren of Millis, Dana Seaver and wife Judy of Wareham, Gilda Davison and husband Kim of Colorado, Maria Seaver of Hanson and adopted daughter, Anita Seaver of Medway.

She was the wonderful and beloved Nonni to Michelle and husband Thom Scott of Westport, David C. Seaver of Plymouth, Sara Davison of Oxnard, CA, and Emma Davison of Pittsburgh, PA. Gilda was Great-Nonni to Aidan and Zoe Scott, also of Westport, MA and aunty to many nieces and nephews.
Gilda was adored by her family and loved for her kindness and good nature and her innate ability to see the good in every individual. She will be missed by family and friends.

A graveside service will be Friday July 19th at 11:30.
