Obituary for John C. Goddard
John Calvin Goddard, 87 of Medfield, MA passed away quietly on September 18, 2022 in Concord, MA from complications of COVID.
He was born in Newton, MA on July 15, 1935 to Calvin Samuel and Ruth C (Mayer) Goddard. He was predeceased by his older sister, Marcia G Howe, and his beloved wife of 58 years, Joan R Goddard.
John was raised in Needham MA, graduated from Brown University class of ‘57, where he was a member of Sigma Phi fraternity, Beta Nu chapter. He received an ROTC Navy scholarship and served on the USS Fidelity. He spent most of his career in human resources at Honeywell, Inc.
John was an avid animal lover who had several beloved dogs in his lifetime. He was also a lifelong fan of the Red Sox and Bruins. A loving husband, father, uncle, neighbor and friend, he will be missed by many.
John is survived by his daughter, Sarah G Rioux and son in law Jeffrey B Rioux as well as his granddaughter Stephanie, and grandson Jeremy, all of Bedford NH. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation in John’s name be made to the Medfield Animal Shelter, 101 Bridge St, Medfield, MA 02052 1-(508) 359-8989.
