Obituary for June B Economos

June Busey Economos, 92, passed away on September 5, 2022, at Benchmark Senior Living on Clapboardtree in Norwood.

June was born to the late Mary Vieve and John Busey in Pensacola, Florida in June of 1930. After high school, she attended Baylor University in Texas, where she received her B.A. and M.A. in English and Speech. She continued her education with some graduate courses in English at Yale University in
Connecticut. She began teaching after receiving her degrees and has taught many grades in many school systems.
In 1966, June married Milton Economos and she and her daughter, Lisa, moved to Medfield, where she taught in the Medfield school system for 27 years. Upon retirement from the Medfield schools, she taught for a brief time at Dean College and then later at Lasell College in the senior living portion of the college. Teaching was her life-long passion. Once fully retired, she moved from Medfield to Linden Ponds in Hingham, and from there she eventually
moved to Arizona before moving back to Massachusetts this year.

In addition to teaching, she loved playing tennis, blackjack, watching football, and engaging in thoughtful and lively conversations about many different subjects.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the caring staff at Benchmark Senior Living on Clapboardtree in Norwood who took such good care of her in her final months.

June is survived by her daughter, Lisa Brady Nyren, and her husband Donald of Medfield, and her grandson, Daniel Fitzgerald of Boston, of whom she was so proud.

A private graveside service is planned.
