Obituary for Kathleen M "Kathie" Leader (Sullivan)

Kathleen M. (Sullivan) Leader, age 79, of Medfield and Pocasset passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday August 20th, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Leader of Medfield, MA, Loving mother of Kimberly A. Frazier and her husband Matthew of Medfield and William J. Leader and his wife Megan of Walpole, Adoring grandmother of Thomas and Veronica Frazier and Annie and William Leader. Sister to the late Ann Croke and her late husband John of Fairfield CT, the late Edward Sullivan and his surviving wife Toni of Melbourne, FL, the late Helen Sullivan and twin of the late Kevin Sullivan and his wife Suzette, Aunt to many nieces and nephews and cousin to many.

Kathie, as she was known to her friends and family, grew up in Roslindale, MA. She was born on August 9, 1942 to the late Michael E. and the late Helen M (Flynn) Sullivan. Her family was active in the Holy Name Parish, where Kathie played the trumpet in the Holy Name Band. She graduated from Saint Mary’s High School, Brookline in 1960. Then attended Chandler School for Girls, Boston. Kathie then went to work for D. L. Slade, co in Boston.

In 1965, She married the love of her life, William (Bill) Leader. They moved to Medfield and started a family. Kathie was involved with many organizations in the town, like Hannah Adams and the Garden Club to name a few. She worked for the Medfield Public School system for 37 years as an Administrative Assistant, starting at the High School and ending at the Superintendent's office, where she retired in 2014. During her years with the Superintendent office, Kathie was also the recording Secretary during the School Committee meeting.

Kathie was a smart, kind and generous woman. She could change your day with just a smile. She enjoyed reading, shopping, doing her crossword puzzles and playing cribbage or bridge. She encouraged everyone to get an education and to keep their mind sharp. Kathie was also always looking to improve whether it was a process at work or finding a better way to get to the cape.

Friends and family are cordially invited to attend visiting hours Monday August 30th 4-8 at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller St, Medfield. Funeral Mass Tuesday 10:30 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring St, Medfield.
