Kerri Ann McLaughlin-Tomney of Hopkinton, Massachusetts passed suddenly on November 21, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family. Kerri was 56.
Above all, Kerri was a devoted mother and wife. She always put her family first. Kerri leaves behind her beloved husband and partner in life Richard Tomney. She was the loving mother to Andrew and Zachary Tomney of Hopkinton. She was the cherished sister of Kenneth McLaughlin and his wife Nancy (Ciampa) McLaughlin of Plymouth, MA. She was beloved sister-in-law to Beth (Tomney) Warner and John Schlupf of Cotuit, MA, Jeanie Spinosa of NC, Anthony and Kelley Spinosa of NJ, and Michael and Stephanie Spinosa of NC, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Erin McLaughlin and her brother-in-law Bart Warner, both of who she loved dearly.
Born in Boston and raised in Medford, Kerri was the daughter of Virginia (Warren) McLaughlin and Kenneth McLaughlin of Medford and beloved daughter-in-law of T. Richard and Isabel Tomney of TX. Kerri went to high school at Arlington Catholic. After high school she went on to become a Registered Nurse and held multiple assignments at Mass General, New England Rehab, and others. Most recently she was a visiting nurse with Caretenders.
Kerri’s personality and smile would light up any room and she was a true caregiver both in her professional and personal life. She made time for everyone and often spent hours helping those in need. She was also involved in special education and sat on the Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) in Hopkinton helping others navigate the special education process. As in life, she did not stop helping people, she was an advocate for organ donation and positively impacted several lives and families in her passing.
A memorial service will be held at the Faith Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14th, 146 E Main St., Hopkinton, MA. A Celebration of Kerri’s Life will immediately follow the memorial service at the Warren Center, 529 Chestnut St., Ashland MA. A private burial is planned.
