Obituary for Laura Grzeskowiak
Laura Ann Grzeskowiak (Longueira) of Medfield, MA passed away on November 21, 2022 after an 18 year battle with ALS. Laura was 69 years old. Laura was born in Manhattan to her late parents, Joseph “Pepe” Longueira and Lillian Ortiz Longueira. She attended Tottenville High School and graduated in 1970. Laura was a long-time resident of Tottenville in Staten Island, New York before moving to Massachusetts in 2015.
Laura is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, John; her devoted brother Joseph Longueira (Elaine) of Miami; her daughter Holly and son-in-law John Shaughnessy and her son Marc and daughter-in-law Marina Grzeskowiak; her 6 grandchildren who gave her a will to fight – Jake, Max, Lilly, Peter, John, Luke and Kate; and many extended family and friends. The family would like to thank all of the caregivers, therapists and doctors who provided Laura with their care and expertise throughout the years.
Services will be held on November 30th from 4-7pm at Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home in Medfield, MA and a funeral mass will take place on December 1st at 10am at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Medfield, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Laura’s memory to Old Colony Hospice and Palliative Care of Bridgewater, MA or the ALS Association Massachusetts Chapter.
