“Nina” Leonina (D’Angelo) Schermerhorn of Bonita Springs, FL, formerly of Medfield
and Marshfield died Tuesday, October 14th at home in Bonita Springs.
Born in Boston on December 21, 1946; the daughter of Victor D’Angelo and Letitia
Mastrangelo. She is predeceased by her step-father, John Civetti. She graduated from
Medfield High School,Class of 1963. Nina was an acccomplished Hairdresser who
touched the lives of many through her co-ownership of Reflections of Medfield.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Henry Schermerhorn. She is survived by
her sister, Diana Bratsos and her husband Matthew and David Massimi, nephew Lukas and niece Maya.
Nina leaves a large extended family of three generations of cousins who have been the
joy of her life. Nina also leaves several close friends with whom she has made
memories for the past 50 years.
Nina’s love of family and friends where her driving force, despite dealing with a chronic
illness for over 40 years she found the time and energy to open her home to family
and friends for good times and great food.
Nina will be greatly missed by all she touched in her 74 years. Her wish would be that
all of the love and kindness she gave be continued amongst all she loved.
Nina requested that flowers be omitted and donations be made to the Rheumatoid
Arthritis Foundation 29 Crafts Street, #100, Newton, MA 02458.
Limited calling hours will be from 10 to 11:15 on Wednesday, October 21st at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso FH, 15 Miller St Medfield followed by a Mass at St. Edwards in Medfield, MA., and burial at Vine Lake Cemetery.
