Obituary for Lucy Lillian Mastronardi

Lucy Lillian Mastronardi passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30at the age of 102.Lucy was the youngest of 4 children of Sicilian immigrants, Biagio and Marianna Spoto. Lucy met the love of her life, Pasquale (Pat)Saverio Mastronardi, at 8 years old, when Pat’s family moved into a house across the street in the Bronx, NY. Their childhood friendship developed into a great love and they married in1945, after Pat returned from 5 years of US Army service in Europe during World War II. After their marriage, Lucy and Pat lived for a short time in the Bronx, NY before buying their first home in Pelham, NY. They had two sons, Richard and Andrew. They remained a dedicated, close and loving couple until Pat’s death in 2008. Lucy graduated High School in the Bronx and worked as a seamstress, including making wedding dresses during and after WW II. Lucy took time off from work to raise her two boys, after which she returned to her love of sewing. Lucy and Pat remained in Pelham, NY until 1985, when they moved to Norfolk, Massachusetts to be close to their sons and their families. Lucy was an amazing Italian cook and loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed. Lucy is survived by her sons Richard (Susan Harlow) of Medield, MA, and Andrew (Nancy) of Austin, TX; four grandchildren; (Sara Addesa (Brian), Maggie Filler (Justin Bradley), Cory Ganschow (Jordan) and Jordan Mastronardi (Crystal). Lucy was also a loving GG to 7 great-grand children: Owen, Lucia and Grace Addesa, Gavin Ganschow, and Maya, Zyla and Andrew Mastronardi. She was thrilled to recently learn that an 8thwas on the way! A private burial will be at the Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield, MA on Saturday, October 5. A graveside memorial and celebration of life will be held at the cemetery, Saturday, October 26.
