Margaret Mandile died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday March 13, 2019. She was 94 years old.
Margaret lived in the town of Medfield since 1965, was very active in the community and was a daily communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church until she was no longer able to attend at which point, she received Holy Comm union at home.
Peggy as she was known worked her entire career for the “Phone Company” beginning when it was ATT then as New England Telephone, and retiring before it became Verizon. She was a Manager in the Accounting Department.
She helped to provide meals at the Haley House drop in center in Boston’s South End, and was a member and former President of the Chatterbox Club, a club for single Italian women.
Margaret led a very spiritual life and was a devout Catholic. She was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Edward’s, and was a member and former Regent of The Catholic Daughters of America, now the Court of Saint Joseph, and she has been described as kind, generous, and compassionate.
Margaret was the daughter of Fred Mandile and Margaret (Marchese) Mandile of Boston. She was the sister of the Rev. Fr. John Mandile of Weston, Geraldine Robson of Medfield, Mary Newton of Idaho, Richard Mandile and his wife Lynn of Marshfield, Francis Mandile of Medfield, and Carole LaFreniere and her husband Leo of Wareham. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring St. Medfield, MA 02052 on Wed. March 20, 2019 at 10 AM, followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. West Roxbury.
