Obituary for Mary Theresa Swantak (Duhamel)

Mary Swantak passed away suddenly on February 1, 2023 at the age of 75.

Born in Framingham, MA on January 15, 1948 she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Duhamel of Millis, MA.

Mary grew up in Millis and was a graduate of Millis high school. Mary lived in Framingham and worked for a brief time at the U.S. Natick Army Labs before moving to Norfolk where she raised her two daughters. She retired after 40 years of employment as a customer service representative at Corning/Siemens Medical. Mary embraced being around people in all social settings. She was the biggest supporter of her grandchildren at games, tournaments and band concerts. After retirement she was one of the first employees working at Gillette Stadium during the covid crisis. This brought her immense joy, not only to help and be a part of something bigger than her but was also able to greet and talk to hundreds of people everyday. Mary had a love for crafting and most recently was found at a local fair selling her creations. However, what brought her the greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Richard “Tip” Pearson; her beloved daughters Andrea Scarbrough and her partner Jim of Foxboro, Pamela Hurley and her husband Jim of Plainville. Mary also was a loving Gram to Mckenzie, Colby and Matthew; Cherished Auntie TT to Theresa, Ian, Carrie, Shannon, Viviana, Carson, Gia and Ryan. Mary is also predeceased by sisters Geraldine Skinner and Frances Spellman.

Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2023 11am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 133 Exchange St, Millis. Burial to follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso F.H. 90 Curve St, Millis.
