Obituary for Mary H Volpicelli (Gustafson)

Of Wilton NH and formerly of Jonesport ME and Franklin MA, passed away on March 23, 2020, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. She was 77 years old and she was the daughter of the late Rangar and Emma (Treado) Gustafson, and sister to the late Joseph Gustafson, and Elizabeth Bray along with her husband Timothy of Springfield, NH.
Mary was an active member of the community and she was devoted to her faith.
She was the beloved wife of George Volpicelli and while raising their family in Franklin they attended St. Joseph’s in Medway and Mary regularly prayed the rosary.
From 1985 until 2005 she worked for Advocates Inc. managing several group homes for the developmentally challenged. There, she won The Neagle Award for Unparalleled Dedication. The inscription read “In grateful appreciation for your tenacity in service; your wholehearted commitment to mission; and your unrelenting selflessness.”
Mary enjoyed contemporary, new age, and country music and loved to read. After moving north Mary became an active member of the Red Hatters in Maine.
She was most proud of her family. Along with her husband they raised Kimberly Volpicelli and George Volpicelli. They are both now grown, George is married to his wife Kellie and they live in Cumberland RI; Kimberly lives in Plaistow NH. They gave Mary and George three grandchildren; Bianca and Talia Volpicelli, and Brendan Batchelder who is now married to his wife Tess.
There will be a private committal service for the family in the coming days. A Memorial Mass will be announced after the public gathering restrictions are lifted.
