Obituary for Maureen T Heavey

Maureen T. Heavey (Regan), of Medfield, passed away after a long illness on November 10, 2021, with her family at her side. Maureen was the youngest of 5 children; her parents, Timothy and Katherine Regan, both immigrated from Ireland. She grew up in Newton, MA and attended Our Lady's High School and the Mt. Auburn Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Harvard University, and Babson College Health Services. After her retirement she volunteered for Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham.

Maureen was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She was married to her husband, Kenneth C. Heavey, for over 51 years. Longtime residents of Medfield, Maureen and Ken had many great friends in town. For many years they had a second home in Harwich, MA and loved spending their summers there.

Maureen leaves behind her devoted husband of over 51 years, Kenneth Heavey of Medfield. She is also survived by her children, Kristin Heavey and her husband Douglas Jaffe of Brooklyn, NY, and Timothy Heavey and his wife Sasha of Hopkinton, MA; her grandchildren Myles and Wyatt Heavey of Hopkinton and Charles and Fiona Jaffe of Brooklyn; and her siblings Bernadette Kelly of Laconia, NH and Jack Regan of Newport, RI. She was predeceased by her sisters Nancy Spinney and Patricia Hirtle. Maureen was very proud of her large Irish family and also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home in Medfield, MA from 9:00-11:00 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Edward the Confessor at 11:30 am.
