Melanie T. Carney, devoted, loyal wife, loving daughter, aunt and friend, 49, of Medfield, Massachusetts died Saturday, August 17, 2019 after as longtime battle with liver disease. Melanie nee Tracy-Pettis was born July 21, 1970 in London, England.
She was the daughter of the late Valerie T. Pettis and Robert A. Pettis of Millis, MA and of Anthony Mathew of London, United Kingdom.
She came to live in the United States in 1977 and graduated from King Philip Regional High School in 1988.
Melanie was a loving, gifted singer, known as Soul Sistah Mel. She had a large, musical family with whom she had the pleasure of making music and memories for many years.
She is survived by her husband William T. Carney of Medfield, brother Rolf Pettis of Millis, sisters Robin Girard of Virginia, Regina Brule of Attleboro, Rhonda “Rusty” Pettis of Maine, several nieces and nephews, and a loving family abroad in England and many wonderful friends and extended family members who stuck by her until the very end.
Melanie would like to be “Remembered as a girl who sang her song for Jesus Christ.”
