Obituary for Mildred H. "Millie" Grover

Mildred Hazel Grover, age 97, passed away peacefully March 30, 2022. Born in Wiscasset, Maine, she was the daughter of the late George and Laura Main. She was married to John T. Grover for sixty-years before his passing in 2011.

She is survived by her daughters Sandra Davidson and her husband Rick of Medfield, Mary Lea Moores and her husband Ray of Auburndale, FL and Cheryl Strittmatter and her husband Paul of Milford; grandchildren: John Davidson of Medfield, Scott Davidson and his wife Lori of Natick, Mandy Strittmatter of Wrentham and PJ Strittmatter and his wife Emily of Bellingham; and great grandchildren: Matthew and Kaden Davidson of Natick and Paul Strittmatter III of Bellingham. Predeceased by her brothers Everett P Main and George O. Main Jr. and sister Beverly Bryer all of Maine.

After moving to Medfield in 1946, “Millie” became active in the town she soon loved. She dedicated her time of service to the Woman’s Axillary and served on many Boards at The Second Congregational Church and The United Church of Christ in Medfield. While raising her three daughters, she was always assisting in many aspects of their activities. Millie is probably most remembered as the Lunch Lady! She loved working in the school cafeteria and treasured the many friendships formed with coworkers and students.

Millie loved cooking, gardening, sewing and was highly skilled with knitting needles. She has enriched many over the years with her gifted talents. She also enjoyed summers in Maine at the family cottage and treasured every visit with family & friends.

Most of all Millie loved her family and instilled strong values which have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Visiting hours will be Thursday April 7th from 4-7 at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller St, Medfield. Funeral service Friday at 11am at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Vine Lake Cemetery.
