Obituary for Nancy Edna Clancy (Simpson)

Nancy E. Clancy 89, of Dover, formerly of Natick, passed away peacefully after a brief hospital stay, on May 14, 2021.

She was the devoted wife of the late Christopher F. Clancy for more than 65 years. Daughter of the late Raymond A. Simpson and Edna S. V. Simpson (Gustafson), she was born and raised in Millis, MA.

She lived a full and wonderful life and was a loving daughter, wife, and role model for her children and grandchildren. Nancy earned her nursing degree from the Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing in Boston and worked at Leonard Morse Hospital as a surgical and delivery nurse before caring full time for her growing family. She and Chris proudly raised their family of six children enjoying many years of family togetherness summering on the Cape Cod and wintering in New Hampshire. Nothing gave Nancy more joy than her relationships with her husband, her siblings, children and grandchildren. Throughout her life, she was Chris’s faithful partner in many real estate ventures including their residential subdivisions in Pocasset, vacation homes in New Hampshire and Cape Cod. Two of her favorites were the barn conversion project in Pocasset and ground up construction of her South Natick home. There she enjoyed working in the peach and apple orchard and the horse barn where she followed the equine interests of her children and grandchildren, riding and caring for her beloved Tennessee Walking horse, Raisin’ Cane. Nancy thrived on keeping her mind and body active throughout her life playing the organ, cooking, gardening, skiing, Sudoku, crosswords and following and investing in the stock market.

All who knew her remember her keen sense of humor and love of a good joke. Nancyis survived by her children, Sherry A. (Mariano Haro) of Natick, Christopher F. Jr of Holliston, Steven E. (Lisa Campoli) of Cambridge, Gregory R. (Cindy Bergland),of Naples FL, Bryan J. (Andrea DeMayo) of Holliston and Colleen C. (Christopher Landers) of Holliston.
