Patricia M. Hirtle (Regan) formerly of Medfield and Harwich, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2021 with her children at her side. She had battled Alzheimer’s disease for several years. Pat was the daughter of Timothy and Katherine Regan, both of whom immigrated from Ireland. She grew up in Newton, MA and attended Our Lady's High School. She went on to build a career as an executive assistant and accountant.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. A longtime resident of Medfield, Pat and Bob formed many great friendships and loved to host dinner parties and the like. Pat was proud of her Irish heritage and loved music. Her second home was Harwich, MA and she and Bob eventually retired there. She volunteered at the Harwich Family Pantry and was a member of the Allen Harbor Yacht Club and the Garden Club. Pat loved the beach and loved to spend late afternoons there with a good book. More than anything, Pat loved her family and was happiest sitting around the dinner table with them long after the meal was over talking and laughing.
Pat was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert (Bob) Hirtle as well as her sister, Nancy Spinny. She leaves her children, Kathryn Carlson and her husband Albert of Northborough, and Matthew Hirtle of Harwich, her siblings Bernadette Kelly of Laconia, NH; Jack Regan of Newport, RI; and Maureen Heavey of Medfield. She also leaves her beloved grandson, Tyler Carlson of Northborough as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, July 12, 2021 at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home in Medfield, MA from 10-11:30am. A Funeral Mass will follow at St. Edward the Confessor at 12pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
