Richard Leon Fortier passed away on February 13th surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Haverhill on August 7, 1935 to Leon and Edna Fortier. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Fortier, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage, his sons Richard and Kevin Fortier, and his daughter Leslie Gallagher. He was also preceded by his sisters Frances Boucher and Barbara Marcotte and his beloved dog Bailee. He is survived by his daughter Karen Carlson of Millis and his daughter Denise Krohn and her husband Bruce of Post Falls Idaho. He is survived by eleven grandchildren, Rebecca Shubert, Danielle, Ryan, and Lauren Gallagher, Megan and Kevin Fortier, James and Christopher Gallagher, Brittany Leduc, Alanna Plante, and Daniel Gourley and 19 great grandchildren.

He served proudly in the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed woodworking, his grandchildren, and his dogs. He was always there to listen and give advice and was very quick-witted.
