Obituary for Ritajane Clancy

Ritajane Clancy of Natick, formerly of Millis, passed away on Friday, December, 9th, 2022 at Bethany Healthcare Center, Framingham. She was the beloved daughter of the late Christopher C. and Rose E. (Sherry) Clancy and the sister of the late Christopher F. Clancy.

Ritajane graduated Millis High School in 1945 and Regis College in 1949. After graduation she became a member of the Order of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. For the next twenty years Sister Rose Christopher taught school at St. Theresa’s in West Roxbury, Immaculate Conception in Marlborough and St. Stephen’s in Framingham. During her time in the sisterhood she formed many life-long friends including her most cherished friend, Sister Mary Robard Craven.

In 1970 after leaving the Order, she moved to Natick to care for her parents and went on to teach in the Woonsocket, RI school system for an additional twenty years.

She is survived by devoted nieces and nephews; Sherry of Natick, Christopher, Bryan and Colleen (Landers) of Holliston, Steven of Cambridge, and Gregory of Estero, FL many grandnieces and grandnephews; Patrick, Ryan, Calvin, Nola, Erin, Mathew, Benjamin, Gregory and Sarah Clancy, Daniel and Nicholas Haro and Christopher Landers.

A celebration of her life will be held at St. Thomas Church in Millis. Since childhood this church was dear to her and she always considered this her home parish. A Funeral Mass will be offered up Thursday December 15th 10:30. Internment to follow in the family burial lot in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis.
