Obituary for Robert J. Bouchard

Robert, 64, entered into eternal life on December 13 after a courageous, decade-long battle with cancer in the arms of his devoted family. Bob was born in Boston, attended high school in Buffalo and Pittsburgh, and earned his bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University. In 1984, Bob married his soulmate Maryann (Salenius) of Quincy.
He began his career in sales at Westinghouse, ultimately working as a senior application engineer in the North American Sales organization at Eaton Electrical. Bob appreciated the many colleagues and customers who became loyal, cherished friends over 40+ years in the industry.
Bob was active in Medfield, where he lived with his family for nearly 30 years, and coached his children’s youth basketball, hockey, and softball teams, spent time as a member of the Medfield Historical Society, and enjoyed scenic, quiet walks through town year round. An avid reader and student of history, he relished the quintessential New England character of the community and nurtured many meaningful friendships there. He was also an enthusiastic Boston sports fan, and enjoyed golf and playing and refereeing hockey. Bob was a man of ardent, quiet faith and lived for his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his beloved Maryann, who faithfully nurtured him through years of illness; adoring children Alessandra of Somerville, MA, Theodore of Boston, MA, and Madeline of Burlington, MA; siblings David (Karen) of Upper Arlington, OH, Nancy of Fort Myers Beach, FL, Jane of Falmouth, MA, and Carol (Glenn Barb) of Greenwood, IN; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bob’s family is comforted that he has been welcomed into everlasting life by his mother Madeleine (Lessard), brothers Michael and Andrew, and father Charles, who passed away December 11.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 18 at 10:00 am at the Parish of St. Edward at 133 Spring St., Medfield, followed by burial at Vine Like Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made at: https://giving.massgeneral.org/donate/cancer-center
