Obituary for Robert L Kittredge

Dr. Robert L. Kittredge (Bob), 81, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born in Springfield, MA, on January 27, 1941 to Max and Bertha Kittredge, the 2nd youngest among his mother’s nine sons and one daughter.

As a very proud graduate and lacrosse standout at Johns Hopkins University, Bob went on to earn his doctorate in Dentistry and Endodontics from Case Western University and SUNY Buffalo University. After graduation Bob began building his 43 year Endodontics practice, Endodontic Associates of Cape Cod (formerly Kittredge, Tagher and Choi & Associates).

He and Suzanne, his loving wife of 53 years, built a tremendous life together filled with laughter and surrounded by a vast, incredible circle of friends and family.

As a proud member of the American, Yankee and Massachusetts Dental Societies, a lecturer at Harvard Medical School of Dentistry, a clinical Professor at Forsyth Dental Center, and an honorary member of the International College of Dentists, among other positions, Bob took incredible pride in teaching others and serving the dentistry profession.

As an avid athlete, runner, lover of great pie and bad jokes, his green thumb and passion for the outdoors was manifested in the creation of one of the most spectacular vegetable and flower gardens on all of Cape Cod.

He is survived by his adoring “dahling” wife, Suzanne; his devoted and loving son, Justin and daughter-in-law, Lindsey; the brightest lights of his life, granddaughters, Izzy and Caleigh; his brother, George; 19 nieces and nephews and their spouses, as well as 30 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Just as he lived his entire life, Bob was the finest of gentlemen, an incredible father, a very kind, gentle soul who loved hard, and lived his life by treating all around him with such kindness and generosity every day. This legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved Pop, Beau, Bob, Uncle Bobby, Dr. K, Bobby the K, Dr. Crunch, and above all, Papa.

His passing will forever leave a hole in the hearts of his cherished family and legion of adored friends and colleagues.

Services will be Monday, November 7th at 11am in Hyannis, Massachusetts at The Cape Cod Synagogue.

In lieu of flowers, his family has suggested that any consideration of contributions to honor Bob’s memory be made to the Hyannis Youth and Community Center, 141 Bassett Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
