Obituary for Robert A. Steinkrauss
Robert (Bob) Albert Steinkrauss (8/22/1951–4/4/2022)
Steinkrauss, Robert Albert of Brewster, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on April 4th surrounded by his loving family. Bob leaves behind his family; devoted husband of 40 years to Louise Steinkrauss and beloved father to son Bobby Steinkrauss and his wife Juliette, son Bill Steinkrauss and his wife Julie, daughter Krista Bardelli and her husband Andrew, and daughter Courtney Steinkrauss and her fiancé Andrew Nugent. Adored grandfather of Lucas, Olivia, and Will Steinkrauss and Connor Bardelli.
Bob was born in West Roxbury, son of the late Doris and Edwin Steinkrauss. He is survived by many nieces and nephews in addition to his sister Nancy McCarthy and her husband Joe, his brother Jack Steinkrauss and rejoins Jack’s late wife, Nancy Steinkrauss.
Bob was a proud graduate of Boston College High School and Boston College Carroll School of Management. He was a loyal supporter of BC for many years. Bob raised his family and lived in the town of Medfield for 35 years, where he forged strong friendships and community. In his later years, Bob enjoyed retirement living on the cape with his wife.
Much admired for his career, Bob is remembered as a strong and respected leader, serving as CEO and board advisor to many innovative technology companies across the world. He took great pride in his career and through all of his milestones and decisions, he remained focused on the well-being and success of his employees and colleagues. Bob enjoyed spending time mentoring the next generation of leaders and coaching his children on how to lead with respect and integrity in their own careers.
Bob worked hard to provide a wonderful life for his family, he was an incredibly generous man who loved life. Most of all, Bob loved spending time with his family. He treasured the simple moments in life like an early morning boat ride on Ossipee Lake, a 4th of July cookout on the cape, and in his later years–quality time spent with his pride and joy–his grandchildren. The legacy of Bob lives on in the strength of his family that he built with the love of his life, Louise.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 8th from 4-8 p.m. at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller Street, Medfield, MA. A reception to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, April 12th from 12-3 p.m. at The Cape Club of Sharon, 25 Tiot St, Sharon, MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Edwin D. Steinkrauss Scholarship at Boston College. A scholarship that Bob established in his father’s name, which provides the full-demonstrated financial need of a BC student in the Carroll School of Management on an annual basis.
