Obituary for Robert Andrew Volpicelli Jr.

Robert Andrew Volpicelli, Jr. died peacefully on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Boston Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 66 years young.

Bob was the son of the late Robert Sr. and Patricia (Brodeur) Volpicelli.

Bob graduated valedictorian from Wentworth Institute of Technology and also played collegiate hockey at UMASS Lowell.

He worked as a fire fighter for the Millis Fire Department alongside his father for more than a decade and was self-employed as a Civil Engineer for Maricor Construction Services (named after his children, Corey and Marissa) for the majority of his career. Bob was an active member of the Massachusetts Arborist Association.

He loved sitting by the pool or traveling to the Cape with Mary Ellen and spending time with his family. He enjoyed listening to his favorite Classic Rock bands such as the Eagles, Bread, Aerosmith and the Carpenters. As an avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching the Patriots, the Bruins and the Red Sox. He was present for every practice and game for both Corey and Marissa and helped coach for Corey’s baseball teams into high school.

Bob leaves behind his son Corey and daughter Marissa, his beloved Mary Ellen Blue and her children, his three sisters; Janice Alger, her husband John and their two children, Sheila Volpicelli and Sharon Harte, her husband John and their two children and also his mother, Patricia Volpicelli.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 28 at 11 AM at the United Church of Christ located at 142 Exchange St. in Millis. Visiting hours will be on Monday, June 27 from 4-8 PM at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home located at 90 Curve St. in Millis.
