Of Millis and formerly of Medfield and Hyde Park, on Monday Feb. 15, 2021 while under care in Medfield. He was 85 years old. The son of Canadian emigres Roy Whooten and Adeline Horton, Roger was the beloved husband of Carmella (Jeannetti) Whooten, and the devoted father of Jeffrey and his wife Maureen of Mattapan, Mark and his wife Amy of Millis, and Rochelle Dunne and her husband Robert of Allston, and the proud grandfather of Zachary and Annika Whooten and Alyssa, Maia, and the late Ashlyn Elise Dunne. Also, Roger was the last of his siblings. He was sadly predeceased by all of his brothers; Alverdo, Wellesley, Gordon, William, Robert, twins Ritchie and Ronny, and his sister Marion Wilson. He is however survived by many brothers and sisters in-law and many many nephews and nieces. A memorial service for Roger is planned for Friday, February 19, 2021 at 12 noon at Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, 15 Miller St., Medfield, MA 02052, followed by burial at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Auburn Rd., Millis, MA 02054. Visiting hours will be the 3 hours preceding the service from 9 AM until noon at the Medfield, Funeral Home.
