Obituary for Stephanie C Walsh (Cadwell)

Our dearly loved Stephanie Cadwell Walsh, 50, passed on Saturday November 30th with many loving family and friends at her side after valiantly enduring a lengthy illness. Born in Nashua NH to Jane Cadwell and her late father Peter Cadwell, she graduated from Mount St. Mary’s High School. Stephanie is survived by her devoted husband of 23 years Timothy, her cherished son Liam, her loving mother Jane and pre-deceased by her dear brother Peter. She is also survived by her Sisters in law Mary Beth Cadwell (Derek Keller), Jenifer Walsh Steele (Todd Steele) as well as her Brothers in law John Walsh (Shivika Asthana Walsh) and Kevin Walsh (Christine Walsh). Stephanie has always been supported and loved and will be deeply missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and their families both far and near.
Stephanie was so very proud and fond of her early years devoted to her coaching. She inspired many a young swimmer to fall in love with the sport she developed a passion for from the age of 7 at the Nashua YMCA. All of her little swimmers from the Mass Bay Marlins out of Harvard loved her dearly while learning commitment, hard work and dedication for self-achievement and team betterment. Stephanie graduated from Springfield College having learned and nurtured these traits from a very close and endearing group of young men and women on the Springfield College swimming and diving team.
Stephanie had simple pleasures. Her self-declared “Happy Place” was, “anywhere on a boat”… with the sun shining and the wind in her hair. The beach was a close second on the lists of happy places, it did not matter what season it was, she felt a kinship with the ocean. The next on her simple pleasures was to make and eat Thanksgiving dinner… any time of year.
Through her many years of illness Stephanie never let her sickness define her or hinder her ambitions. When she wanted something to happen, her will and determination forged the path. Stephanie was a strong and resilient woman who influenced many friends and family to never give up, she fought a lot of unfair battles and she never let it show. Her generous heart, her unmediated humor and her gift of quoting movie and sit-com lines to exactly fit the situations and conversations she was in are what influenced all who knew her.

Her family would like to recognize and express sincere gratitude to the never-ending devotion of her many caregivers at The Brigham and Women’s and Massachusetts General Hospitals.
