Obituary for Susan "Sue" Cooper (Moran)

Susan Moran Cooper, 62, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 29th, after 23 years of kicking cancer’s ass.

Sue was born in Brockton, MA, the daughter of the late John Francis Moran Jr. and the late Rosemary Moran (formerly Murray).

After earning a bachelor’s degree in education from Bridgewater State, she married the love of her life, Dean Cooper, on September 6, 1986. Together the two of them spent 35 wonderful years together raising their beloved children: Thomas Cooper (husband of Meghan) of Pittsburgh, PA and Kellie Cooper of Everett, MA.
Employed at Motorola and then State Street Bank, after her initial diagnosis Sue made the choice to be a stay-at-home mom so she could spend more time with her family. During that time, she frequently volunteered in the Milford Public School System as a substitute teacher and later head of the PTO. Once her children had grown up, she ended her life with a career as an office director with Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home.

Sue’s favorite way to relax was floating in her backyard pool, often with a fruity martini or strawberry daiquiri in her hand. She also enjoyed taking vacations with family and friends, often near the ocean, where she loved sitting on the beach or going out in a boat. Other hobbies included reading, crocheting, and watching football with her husband on Sunday afternoons.

Besides her husband and children, Sue is survived by her siblings: Mark Moran of Middleborough, MA, Matthew Moran of Arizona, Sean Moran of Maine, and Kellie Bresnehan of Duxbury, MA, as well as their respective spouses and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was also the loving sister of the late Cynthia (Cindy) Moran.

The family would also like to recognize the amazing care provided for many years by Dr. Mona Kaddis, MD and the staff at the Dana Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life hosted by Sue’s family on October 30th from 12-4 at Lake Pearl in Wrentham. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to cooper.kellie@aol.com by October 16th. The family also asks that if you are not vaccinated for COVID-19 you please wear a mask throughout the celebration to respect the health and wellness of all who attend.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Milford Dana Farber Cancer Center are appreciated.
