McKENNEY, Theresa M. (Kelly)
Of Millis, died on Friday, March 10, 2023, with her family by her bedside.
Born to Irish emigres John and Mary (Raftery) Kelly on July 4, 1927, Theresa grew up in Jamaica Plain and was a graduate of St. Thomas High School then worked for a time, for New England Telephone.
Theresa was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Court of St. Joseph, and a CCD Teacher. She was an avid reader and a huge fan of Boston sports teams.
Theresa was predeceased by her beloved husband Douglas, Sr. and was the devoted mother of Douglas Jr. and his partner Deirdre Gilmore, Mary Ellen Cartier, Maureen Donovan and husband Steve, and Ron and his wife Kim. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Theresa is survived by her brother Francis, but sadly was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph, John, Charles, Edward and Vincent, and her sisters Mary, Elizabeth, Rita and Marguerite. Her grandson Jon, Son in-law Ron, and her loyal companion Tess Gracie, the dog.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 82 Exchange Street, Millis, MA 02054, on Thursday, March 16, 2023, 11:00 o’clock AM followed immediately by interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Millis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Theresa’s memory will be greatly appreciated at Salmon VNA and Hospice, 37 Birch Street, Milford, MA 01757.
