Obituary for Virginia F "Ginny" Olsen
Olsen, Virginia F. (Ginny) of Medfield passed away quietly on October 25, 7 days from her 100th birthday at Bridges by Epoch in Mashpee, after a long battle with dementia. Family members were by her side.
Ginny is survived by her husband of 70 years, Neal, of Mashpee, her son Richard (Rick) and his wife Marianna of Marstons Mills MA, predeceased son Robert (Bob) and his wife Patty of Uniontown PA and grandchildren Alexander and Andrea, both of San Diego CA.
Ginny was born in Boston and spent her childhood and high school years in Winthrop MA. She attended Western Maryland University in Westminster MD. Ginny had a very successful 25+ year career as a real estate broker in Medfield, working for Mitchell Real Estate and RE/Max Executive Realty.
In her spare time, she volunteered at the Medfield Animal Shelter. Her love of all animals, especially cats, fueled her passion. She routinely fostered and adopted many cats, many of which lived long and healthy lives. She will be buried in Medfield’s Vine Lake Cemetery as services are private.
