I remember Paul as a know it all, but not in a derisive way. He could converse about most anything. I admired him like a youger sister would admire her oldest brother. He'd take me for tours of his yard and home. I was impressed by his flower beds of and tidy lawn and that he germinated flowers from seeds under growlights. I remember receiving random advice: when and how to seed a lawn, which wood was best used where - pine was soft and best kept to the bedroom, and how to show a bird who's boss. I think he had a job in the giftwrap department one Christmas season because he taught me how to wrap gifts. I still wrap them the precise way he taught me and think of him every time I do.
He gave me good parental advice when I most needed it.
What Paul was most proud of were his kids. He was patient, soft spoken, encouraged their interests and took pride in their accomplishments. He did all he could to help them build their lives.
Paul, life was not always kind or easy. But you had your glory days.
